You can use plastic wrap to form the rice into animal shapes. However, using the molds saves time ;) Great tool when you have a lot of Onigiri to prepare!

Just press some cooked Japanese rice into the mold.
Decorate with Nori seaweed sheet, ham, cheese, and/or Kinshi Tamago (shredded egg crepes).
