Bisibela Bath with Horlicks Oats is a very healthy and delicious Indian recipe. Bisibelabath is a very popular dish of Karnataka. We have substituted Horlicks oats in place of rice to make it even more healthy, filling and nutritious. It is a quick and easy recipe that you can put up for dinner or lunch in no-time. Horlicks Oats 1 cup Raw mango (Chopped) 1/2 cup Eggplant (chopped) 1/2 cup Baby onions 4 number Carrot (2 inch medium slices) 1/2 cup Tomatoes (Chopped) 1/2 cup Coriander leaves (finely chopped) 1 bunch Chana Dal 1 cup Dry red chilies 3 number Hing pinch Mustard seeds 1 tea spoon Cumin seeds 1 tea spoon Coriander powder 1 tea spoon Turmeric powder 1/2 tea spoon Tamarind pulp 1/2 cup Salt to taste Oil as required Urad dal 1 tea spoon Sambar powder 1 tea spoon Water as required Curry leaves 2 springs Red chili powder 1 tea spoon
Boil water in a pan, add soaked chana dal, turmeric powder, hing and cook till it reaches to a thick consistency.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and saute it.
Add curry leaves, dry red chilies, baby onions, chopped eggplant, slices of carrot, chopped raw mango, tomatoes to the same pan and sauté until all the vegetables turn slightly tender.
Now add tamarind pulp and season with coriander powder, red chili powder, sambar powder, salt (to taste), give it a mix and cook well by adding water.
Then add Horlicks oats to the same pan and stir by adding cooked & mashed chana dal.
Finally, sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves on the top and turn off the flame
Healthy and delicious Horlicks Oats Bisibela Bath is now ready to serve.
