Unicorns? Pah! Old news (I mean, obviously there's a time and a place but still...). Mermaids are what it's all about these days. You've probably been wondering how you can make the BEST mermaid cake around? Well, so have I. And I think I've cracked it. So let me show you how to make it step by step!
You will need...
A cake of your choice, filled and crumb coated
Buttercream or Swiss meringue buttercream coloured with food colour of your choice
Sugarpaste + gum tragacanth or CMC OR ready made modelling paste in a variety of colours
Lustre dusts + clear alcohol
Rubbery silicone mermaid tail and shell moulds for fondant/sugarpaste
Cornflour
Digestive biscuit crumbs
Various (optional) utensils including palette knives, cake smoother, turntable, non-stick board and rolling pin, various brushes, pokey things, toothpicks and probably some other stuff that I forgot!
