Today we're going to show you how to make teh winny de puh cocktail, a mezcal and tequila cocktail that comes out to be like a cardamom forward smokey margarita variation.

So this cocktail is no doubt some type of margarita variation, inspired from the classics. In the end... it's only 'so so' by comparison to a great margarita. The smoke is fine for those that love a mezcal drink but over-the-top for straight up tequila lovers.
It also utilizes lemon juice over the traditional 'sour' of a margarita so it's not exactly a match but fits as a good variation. The use of honey syrup to sweeten it over the more likely agave sweetener is different, giving the winny de puh both a lighter sweetness and ... well, making the name make slightly more sense. We also suggest a bit more peach bitters if you don't like a super sour cocktail.
Winny De Puh Cocktail
- 1½ oz. Reposado tequila
- ¾ oz. Fresh lemon juice
- ½ oz. Honey syrup (2:1)
- ¼ oz. Mezcal
- 1 dash. Peach bitters
- 3 drops. Cardamom tincture / bitters
- Garnish: lemon peel
