This video is just to give you information on your rights as a passenger when your flight is delayed, cancelled etc, how to claim the money and get it paid into your bank account based on the EU delayed flight regulation
For lost or delayed baggage, it is best to report it right there at the airport with the airline staff as soon as you notice that your bag did not come out. PLEASE DO NOT wait till you get home to report such because by then, it will be too late. Each airline has a maximum they pay for a lost baggage no matter the value of what you have inside so never check in valuables. For damaged bags, the most you can get is a replacement for the bag/box. Once an airline bought me a whole new box just because they broke one of the side locks of my box. Some airlines will tell you to buy a replacement lock and send them the receipt and they will reimburse you. Read the terms and conditions of any airline you are flying.
The full EU regulation. Please read well: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-conte...
If your own case is complicated, you may need someone with legal knowledge to interpret some of it for you.
How far back can you claim?

Delays due to exceptional circumstances. Read the EU regulation for details but I can tell you now
Extraordinary circumstances: When your flight is delayed or cancelled due to the following reasons, you will not get compensation because these are regarded as beyond the control of the airline by the European regulation and will excuse the airline from paying compensation:
1. Bad weather, for example: snowstorms, hurricanes, heavy rain, poor visibility etc.
2. When the airport's staff are on strike eg air traffic control, baggage handlers etc but if the specific airline's staff eg pilots and flight attendants are on strike, you should get compensation.
3. Political circumstances eg terror attacks, security risks etc
4. Natural disasters: earthquake, volcanic eruptions etc.
5. Bird strike; when there's a collision between the aircraft and a bird or other foreign object
Every flight delay is different so for more information, read: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-conte...
