When the pomegranate (Anar known at in India) is in season, I love to add fresh seeds in my salads or just enjoy them as it is or extract the juice when not in the mood of eating seeds.

Score about 1/4-inch deep into the pomegranate around the stem part of the fruit. Do not cut all the way into the fruit, you really just need to cut through the red exterior to where it begins to turn white. make 4 cuts on the leathery skin of the fruit to Score the pomegranate into sections
and pull the skin out to open the fruit and you will see all those beautiful vibrant jewel seeds.
Remove the seeds from the fruit with care to avoid stains. If desired, Use underwater method to avoid juice splash. But I am so used to with this method as it is easier when the fruit is cut open wide.

But the seeds aren't the only good part of a pomegranate. The juice is fabulous, too. hand juicing is the generally recommended method for extracting juice from a pomegranate. hand juicing can be done similar to that of juicing an orange or lemon.

Roll the pomegranate to crush the seeds. Keep rolling and pressing till the crunch sound is gone.
