Today we'll review up a small sample bottle of Roaming Man Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey, Batch #8. After you're done don't forget to hit up http://awesomedrinks.com and get some bartending gear!
One thing is for certain: Ian loves a good rye whiskey and Derrick loves overproof whiskey for his cocktails. Today, we take a taste of Sugarlands Roaming Man Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey and give our personal review of the spirit. Roaming Man Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey comes in different batches and we're guessing each batch has its own unique taste and character. So, it's only reasonable to define our batch tasting for this evening: it is batch 8.
We have had a couple other batches, from older releases, but this seasonal batch is out now and comes in at about 3 years 2 months, 123 proof (61.5%) so it's no slouch.
A "fresh" muskey spice, earthy flavors, warm barrel aging and an aggressive mouth of fire makes this little guy a winner. This belly warmer will go great in a rye cocktail like a Manhattan or a whiskey sour... or a Boulivardier.
