Aloo tikki is a popular north Indian snack. These are crispy and delicious. Potatoes are spiced up with some masalas and the tikkis are shallow or deep fried. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. You also can like, share and subscribe.
Ingredient list
• 2 medium Potatoes
• 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
• Salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp Garam masala
• 1/2 tsp Dry mango powder
• Finely chopped Green chili
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• 1/2 tsp Black salt
• 2 tbsp Thick Poha / Flattened rice
• 2 tbsp Rice
Method:
• Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them.
• Transfer the mashed potatoes into freeze for about 2 hours.
• Transfer the rice, poha into a blender jar and blend it into a little
coarse powder.
• Add garam masala, red chili powder, dry mango powder, black
salt, green chili, coriander leaves, salt in mashed aloo and mix
everything well together.
• Add a little poha & rice mixture at a time and knead it.
• Continue to add rice & poha mixture until most of the moisture
from potato is absorbed and nice and stiff dough is formed.
• Take small ball of dough and roll it into a tikki.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Drop the tikkis into oil and fry on medium heat.
• After frying from one side for about 5-6 minutes flip the tikki over
and fry form other side as well for about 5-6 minutes more.
• When tikkis are fried well from both sides, take them out, drain
the excess oil and transfer into a plate.
• Aloo tikkis are already.
• You can make 6-7 nice size tikkis from 2 medium potatoes.
