If you've ever imagined a take on a whiskey sour with a slightly different ratio, a bit of absinthe thrown in for an herbal kicker than you're heading towards the Rattlesnake. Perhaps named because of its poisonous "bite", this cocktail will do the job.
Now, of course, folks may say that this isn't a variation on a Whiskey Sour, but a variation on a Boston Sour, but we don't bother to differentiate. A Boston Sour is a variation on a standard non-egg white Whiskey sour, but why split hairs on a variation of a variation. Just have a good tasty beverage.
Rattlesnake Cocktail
- Egg white
- 0.25 oz. Absinthe
- 1.75 oz. Rye whiskey
- 0.75 oz. Fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 oz. Demerara syrup (1:1)
- Garnish: absinthe
- Garnish: Angostura bitters
