This probably falls into the bitter cocktail category but only by a little -- it's not got a whole lot of sweet, but it's also not hugely bitter. The bitterness is subtle with a loving citrus finish. We want to say it's got more "coffee" flavor, but that might not be the truth, it's just got richer non-sweet flavor profiles and the citrus is a fun play.
This is definitely a take on a sour with a bit of fun with amaros -- good times.
Jeez Louis
- 1 1⁄2 oz Averna amaro
- 1⁄2 oz Cynar
- 3⁄4 oz Cointreau
- 3⁄4 oz Fresh lime juice
- Soda water, to top
