STUFFED BELL PEPPER SALAN CURRY FOR BIRYANI ─ Indian Master Chef

Shimla mirch ka salan - Shimla mirch or bell pepper cooked is an excellent dish where bell peppers are cooked in a flavourful imli ka salan (gravy made with a combination of peanut, coconut and sesame seeds)

Ingredients: Potato 1 Number Red chili powder Salt as per taste Capsicum 5 Numbers Peanuts 1 Tablespoon Sesame seeds 1 Tablespoon Dry coconut pieces 1/2 Cup Oil as required Mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon Dry red chilies 4 Numbers Fenugreek seeds 1/2 Teaspoon Onion 1 Number Curry leaves 1 Strick Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon Ginger garlic paste 1 Teaspoon Coriander powder 1 Teaspoon Water as required Tamarind pulp 1 Cup Jaggery 1 Teaspoon Coriander leaves 1/2 Cup Raisins 3 number Cashew nuts 3 number Almonds 4 number

Method:




1. Take a plate, add boiled potato, red chili powder, salt and mix it well.
2. Cut capsicum upper part and remove seeds. Then stuff in the capsicum as shown in the video and keep aside.
3.Now take a pan and add peanuts, sesame seeds, dry coconut pieces and sautĂŠ it for 2 to 3 minutes.
4.Add these ingredients into the blender and make it into a paste. Keep aside.
5. Then take a pan add oil, mustard seeds, dry red chilies, cumin seeds.
6.When splutter, add fenugreek seeds, chopped onion, curry leaves and sautĂŠ it for 2 to 3 minutes.
8. Add turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and mix it.
9. Then add coriander powder, red chili powder, sesame seeds and coconut paste that we have prepared at the starting.
10. Now add some water and cook it well.
11. In the same pan, add tamarind pulp, jaggery, salt and mix it well.
12. After about 1-2 minutes, add stuffed capsicum and cook it with closed lid for 10 more minutes.
13. Then add chopped coriander leaves and serve in hot.
