Horlicks Oats Dumplings ─ Vahchef - VahRehVah

A perfect healthy dish to serve within no time for your unexpected guests and short time hunger pangs.

Ingredients: Horlicks Oats 1 cup Rice flour 1 cup Water 3 cup Coriander leaves (chopped) 1 bunch Green chilies (finely chopped) 2 cups Oil as required Mustard seeds 1 tea spoon Cumin seeds 1 tea spoon Chana dal 1 tea spoon Urad dal 1 tea spoon Dry red chilies 3 number Hing/aseofitida pinch Curry leaves 2 springs Onions (chopped) 1 number Salt to taste Coconut (grated) 1-2 tablespoon

Method:
Grind a cup of Horlicks oats into a fine powder and keep aside.
Boil around 3 cups of water by adding little salt and butter.
Transfer the powdered Horlicks oats and rice flour in small quantities into the pan with boiling water and mix to a thick mixture with no lumps.
Flavor it with fresh coriander and chopped green chilies, turn the flame off and let the mixture cool down to room temperature.
Now shape the mixture into small dumplings and steam cook for about 8-10 minutes.

For Tempering:

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, dry red chilies and saute until urad dal color gets slightly changed.
Now add a  pinch of hing, curry leaves, chopped onion, green chilies, salt (to taste), coriander leaves, grated coconut and cook it.
Transfer the steamed oats dumplings, give it a good mix and turn the flame off.

Tasty and healthy Horlicks Oats Dumplings are now ready to serve with chutney of your choice.
