A very tasty and versatile vegetable, which tastes amazing when combined with chicken.
INGREDIENTS:
Bottle gourd ½ nos
Oil 2 tbs
Black cumin seeds ½ tsp
Bay leaf 1 nos
Cloves 4 nos
Elachi 2 nos
Cinnamon stick 1 nos
Onions(chopped) 1 cup
Salt To taste
Chickpea flour ½ cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Chicken(pieces) 500-600 gms
Yogurt ½ cup
Dry coconut powder 1-2 tbs
Green chillies 2-3 nos
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder ½ tsp
Cumin powder ½ tsp
Water ½ cup
Garam masala ¼ tsp
Coriander leaves(chopped) ½ bunch
METHOD:
1. Remove peel of bottle gourd and cut into pieces.
2. Heat oil in a pan, add black cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, elachi, cinnamon stick and saute it.
3. Add onions, little salt and saute it, later add chickpea flour and saute it.
4. Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and saute it.
5. Add bottle gourd pieces and saute it.
6. Now add chicken, yogurt, dry coconut powder, green chillies, red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, little water and mix nicely.
7. Place lid and cook it with lid on it until bottle gourd piece and chicken pieces are cooked.
8. Atlast add garam masala and coriander leaves, mix it.
9. Check for seasoning and switch off flame.
10. Now the bottle gourd chicken curry is ready to serve.
