RAW BANANA CHUTNEY ─ Mrs.Vahchef

Raw banana chutney is very typical and rare chutney but tastes extremely delicious made with raw banana (boiled), curd and spiced with red and green chilies.

INGREDIENTS:

Raw banana 1 nos
Water as required
Salt To taste
Oil 2 tsp
Dry red chillies 5-6 nos
Green chillies 4-5 nos
Curry leaves 1 spring
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Tamarind 1 piece
Freshly coconut(grated) ½ cup
Yogurt ½ cup
Turmeric powder 1 pinch
Chana dal ½ tsp

METHOD:

1. Boil raw banana in water with little salt in it until slightly soft.

2. Remove peel of raw banana and cut into small pieces.

3. Heat oil in a pan add, dry red chillies, green chillies, curry leaves, ½ tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp cumin seeds and saute it.

4. Add tamarind and saute it, switch off flame and allow it cool.

5. Take a mixie jar, add freshly grated coconut, above tempering mixture and blend into paste.

6. Take a bowl, add raw banana pieces, paste, yogurt, salt and mix nicely.

7. Heat oil in a pan, add ½ tsp cumin seeds, ½ tsp mustard seeds, turmeric powder, chana dal saute it, add it to chutney and mix it.

8. Now raw banana chutney is ready to serve.
