Lentils are popular all over India and Dal Curry is considered a comfort food. A simple dal curry is often served with Chappatis or Rice.
Ingredients: Ghee 1 Tablespoon Mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon Dry red chilies 3 Numbers Cumin seeds- 1 Teaspoon Curry leaves 3 Stricks Hing Pinch Onion 1 Number Garlic 5 Numbers Green chilies 3 Numbers Red capsicum 1/2 Number Green capsicum 1/2 Number Yellow capsicum 1/2 Number Toor dal 1 Cup Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Method:
1. Boil toor dal by adding a lot of water to a very thin consistency.
2. Then finely chop onion, green chilies and garlic. Chop capsicums into cubes and keep aside.
3. In a pan, heat ghee. Add mustard seeds, dry red chilies, cumin seeds and let it pop out.
4. Now, add curry leaves and asafoetida once it splutters, add onion, turmeric powder, chopped garlic and green chilies and capsicum pieces. Fry until capsicum is half cooked.
5. Add toor dal and boil for 2-4 minutes.
Now, TADKA DAL WITH CAPSICUM BELL PEPPER is ready!
